Inspired by Mental Health Awareness Week, enthusiastic Cascadia vendors gathered at Grand Central Bowl on October 12 to compete in Bowling for Hope, a fundraiser for Cascadia. Nine teams from a few Cascadia vendors bowled alongside our team, The Striking Cascadians – Adidas, Enterprise Rental, Comcast, Providence, Moss Adams, Almar, Key Bank, and Bullard Law. The Striking Cascadians were represented by Beth Barker – CFO, Derald Walker – CEO, Sarah Couey – CAO, Jim Hlava – VP, and Board Members Amy Zulich and Steve Jaggers (animated below in perfect form).

Bowling for Hope was fun way to get to know each other better, and to raise funds for Cascadia. Through donations and sponsorships, we exceeded our fundraising goal of $10,000. The event awarded prizes for the highest score, the most strikes, the most team spirit and the most likes/shares on Facebook. While Cascadia’s team wasn’t the most skilled of the bunch we were the most social, winning six Portland Thorns tickets for the most likes/shares on Facebook. The Striking Cascadians are passing on their good fortune by raffling the tickets to Cascadia staff.

We send our heartfelt thanks to the bowlers and their team supporters for making this a success.
